Grease? Or what for electrical connections

Going thru my van connections trying to hunt down a ‘no bus’ problem and was thinking of something to put in the connections that could help make the contacts better. Is there such a product?

I would think you could use dielectric grease

Dielectric grease does not make a "better" connection. What it does is take an acceptable connection and protect it from future corrosion.

I'm assumed that's what he's was asking. Avoiding corrosion for better connection But now that I read it again, I guess not.

I would not use conductive grease in an automotive application, especially any multi pin connection, too much opportunity for inducing shorts.

i use the common di-electric grease available almost everywhere.
i have been doing this for over 40 years, and have had zero problems caused by doing this.
remember, this is strictly in an automotive environment, and the only salt encounter is with winter road "maintenance", splashing on some under body connections.
my personal experience playing with these things for almost 60 years now.
your mileage will vary.

On a single bullet or packard connector, I have used Noalox, its conductive. I agree on a previous post, don't use it on a multi-connector because of a short possibility. Dielectric grease is good to stop corrosion and after cleaning the terminals, a good way to make the connection again.

You didn't ask this but the nobus a lot of times means the computer is bad. I have been through a couple already on my 2002 van. Coil drivers in particular are bad about burning up. If you take the computer off the firewall and get a faint whiff of something burned, it is time to replace for sure.

Wd40 makes an outstanding contact cleaner. I follow up with SuperLube's contactor corrosion preventer. If you choose to go this route, read the label on the SuperLube, they have several products in very similar packages.
