69 Dart Fenders on a 67 Dart?

69 Dart Fenders on a 67 Dart? - 09/16/22 01:22 PM

I have a 67 Dart that is in need of good front fenders.
I have contacted AMD. They don't plan to produce any 67 fenders. They have one 68 fender and both 69 fenders in stock.
Will the 69 fenders work on my 67? Yes, I know I will need to fill in the side marker light openings.
I am mainly concerned about the fenders being compatible with the 67 headlights and grill.
I could talk to AMD but I wanted to reach out to the Mopar nation first to see if anyone has any input.
Thanks in advance!

'69 headlight buckets are not in the correct location (or so I've been told) for a '67 or '68.

68 fenders are even further out than 67 or 69, they are by themselves. There were lots of differences in the headlight bucket area for all three years. I bought an 11,000 mile 69 Dart from the original little old lady owner and something seemed off on the front. When I got it home I noticed it had a 67 fender on the passenger side, the 69 headlight bezel was off by about an inch, so I am sure visa versa would be the same. I have a pair of each fenders, grilles, and headlight bezels laying around, I need to bolt them all on a spare body I have and see what the real differences are...

Not that long ago, I was fixing up a '68 Dart 270. The right side had been hit and fixed long ago. The right fender had been replaced apparently with a new one and the Chrysler part number was still visible inside the fender. Now clearly the fender was not originally built for a '68. The headlight bucket was moved/replaced. And the top of the fender above the headlight was different than the '68s. I have always wondered if it came that way from Mopar or had been modified at a shop.

the 1969 Dart fenders have the headlights mounted up and further back than the 67-68. The whole headlight mounting panel area is altogether different

i was under the impression you could the complete nose [67, 68, 69, 70, etc] assembly on all darts up to around 73 or so ? shruggy
in other words, the panels would bolt on, but in order to fit and look correct, you need to use all the like year parts. [fenders, hood, grille, etc.]

Yes, entire doghouses are interchangeable except that in late 69 there were tabs added for the upcoming lower valance for the 70-72 Dart and Demon on the lower core support, if your body does not have those tabs then you have to figure out how to mount the valance... work
