Can the input shaft retainer from and A230 swap to say a 69 23 slpie 4 speed.Have a good one on the 3 speed and used the one from the 4 speed on m,y 65 trans.Thanks

compare visually and then measure them all three ways to see if you think they will work wrench scope luck
I don't remember which company made the 3 speed '230" tranny for Mopar, I wonder if it was New Process?

The 230 & the 833 were both made by New Process.

And in either case, the small bearing retainers swap with other small retainer applications.

Same with the large retainer applications.

But big to small & vice-versa can not be swapped.

iagree They both use a 307 bearing and small register on the bellhousing. I have an A833 input and an A230 input on the shelf and the input shafts look identical.
I would say yes they would but I have never personally tried it.

Rocky if yours is broken I probably have a good used one for you.

Thanks Gus I used the one from the 69 trans on my 65 tranny.Just if the 230 will work Ill keep it as they are pricey new.Still have to find someone to look at the 69 trans I know it needs a shifter fork and ?Got it from a friend and its been sitting since like 70 or so

The stock brass forks are not the best for hard shifting, the 1970/71 and later steel forks are a lot better for hard driving, Remove the nub for the later shift fork covers and have fun hammer
