1969 RR hood insert

What is the correct red for the hood inserts? Thanks in advance.

A satin black as I recall, unless it had the air grabber then a bright red

I'm about to paint my '69 GTX Air Grabber open hood inserts VW Mars red. My wife's '81 Scirocco is Mars Red and comparing survivor AG red inserts for many, many years it is the closest and best match IMO.

Here are a couple more VW's in Mars Red

Ive used R4 Barracuda orange which is more of a red. I got that from past discussions on the board here about proper color

I used '69 Plymouth "Scorch Red"
