Uknown Radio - Please Help Identify It - 08/22/22 12:02 PM

A friend asked if I knew what this was for. I said no but will ask on Moparts.com, so here it is.

Looks like a radio for a late 70`s Volare aspen and others. If the sticker is still on top it should have a date code on it. My guess maybe 79 or 80

Thank you. No sticker, only the imprint of where it used to be.

He's correct. That is a 76-80 Volare radio. Had one in my 76' Road Runner years ago. Google image search will confirm it.

Thats the base radio used in just about every mopar car or truck. When I say base there is no speaker control. So most common in trucks and low trim level cars.

AM-FM mono. Single speaker.

A basic am/fm radio. But, someone would want that. I sold one I had a couple years ago and the guy was excited I had one. Everyone throws them away.

I think it might be a 2 speaker system. Need to see the wiring.

Nope, I see the green/black single setup. One speaker.

for some reason, i have kept several radios from the late 70's that came from various chrysler products.
i know they worked when i took them out, because i scrapped lots of stuff in the late 80's - mid 90's time frame, even though i had sold my junkyard back in 1984.
i also kept a few "infinity" radios for parts, in case they were needed to repair the cassette deck in my minivan.
and on the shelf they "live". laugh2

i think that's a over the counter accessory radio for 80's cars.

I am pretty sure I had one identical to it in a 1982 Dodge Rampage...

Looks like late 70s. If it's from the 80s its for truck or van, cars had different radio but the same mounting.
