Windshield Installer Detroit Area - 07/01/22 02:33 PM

I'm ready to have my windshield and rear window re-installed on my 69 Dart and I am having trouble finding anyone who does the older cars. Do any of you Detroit (more specifically Macomb County) area members know of a company that does the older cars and will also come to my house to do it?

I was hoping for a response on this one as I’ll be needing the same for my 64 Dart later this year up

I took my '71 Dart GT to Henderson Glass (27501 Woodward Ave, Berkley, MI 48072) about 3 years ago. I provided them with SteeleRubber front & rear gaskets. I had them install a new windshield (the old one had seen ~50 years & 120,000 miles of abuse), but asked them to re-use the rear glass. I dropped it off one evening, and picked it up the next evening. It was parked and locked inside their building overnight.

Try my local guy - John - 59 Auto Glass. He's out by me (White Lake), but may want to come out to do yours. (248) 714-8191. He is totally a mobile installer.

I haven't had any luck yet finding a glass installer that will come to my house. If anyone else has any recommendations I would appreciate it.

Who ever you get make sure they put sealant on the gasket to window frame otherwise there is a good chance it will leak in the rain or if you run water on it, I had a company tell me not to put any sealant and just install the rubber it will be fine, wish i could help you with a name of a place but really there not very hard to do, I as long as you have good trim that fits your car properly.
