Picked up a 440 today.Numbers on upper pad are E 440 8 24.Pan rail 2F114009.Cast date 3 1 71.Could someone tell me what this is from?Thanks in advance.

E -series is 1969 model year -but- the partial VIN starts with a 2 ?

H series then, 1972 model year.

That is an H not an E. Block cast in 1971, used in a 1972 car.

Assembled in Newark. Not sure what cars were made there. Maybe a Fury or Polara?

C body plant , the engine is a non HP 440
