68 Charger vin# number question?

This vin# B8X101806 is stamped on the rad support and trunk lip
of my 68 charger. no dash different dash number. What does the letter X stand for?

That is not a VIN, it is the SO (Sales Order) number.

The X denotes a Charger.

B - Hamtramck plant.

8 - Series (model year) 1968

In 1969 would it be the last 8 of the vin? thanks

Yes.

If you did have a fender tag that trunk lip and the radiator support number would show up in the lower right of the tag........and on a broadcast sheet.

Carefully remove your glovebox and see if you can find a broadcast sheet taped to the top of it
