clutch adjusment? - 12/24/21 09:19 PM

i have a 78 dodge 6 cyl.4 speed od. changed the clutch used a clutch that had 200 miles on it.
the clutch wont totally disengage so it wont shift.
toke back apart and noticed the adjustment screws not the same.
Is there a proper way to set the clutch with specs or something?

If the clutch won't totally disengage.....maybe the disk is in there backwards? On a V8 that can happen and it will act just like you describe...ask me how I know

What he said wink If you start playing with the adjuster on the PP you are liable to really cause issues. Can you drop the inspection cover for a look see ? twocents

If it turns out that your pressure plate does need adjusting any competent clutch shop can do it. But basically, the fingers have to be adjusted to touch the throw out bearing at the same time, the screws end up where they end up.
