Helcat conversion? Anyone do it?

I was just curious if there are any shops that do Hellcat engine conversions in old muscle? I'm looking at having one put into my 70 Challenger. Due to a bad shoulder I wouldn't be able to do it myself. Any reccomendations

Not knowing where you are, it's hard to say, but there are shops that do it. The best and easiest way is to do the engine and trans swap together. The 8hp trans is awesome! If you do the trans swap, make sure your rear gearing is only about 3.20 as the trans has some high gear ratios, but that along with the amount of gears makes it so awesome!

I'm willing to ship the car if need be. I was just looking for some recommended shops. Maybe that someone has used with good results. Thanks

Bouchillion has a shop in NC and probably the most experience.

If you have the $100K in your checking account then you can find a shop. If it was me I'd go with a well known shop that has the resources to pull off a job like that. You'll also need to make a bunch of decisions on how to handle the dash as well as things such as PS, PB, AC, shift controller, etc. Mixing new and old requires a ton of trade offs and you either need to trust the installer or you need to think thru everything and create some very, very detailed instructions.

I'm going to convert my 70 Challenger convertible to Hellcat and 8spd. I'm planning to convert, dash, steering column and console. There are a couple of places that do these that I know of. PM me and I'd be glad to share those that I know

GOOD ADVICE! I could easily see upwards of the 100K depending on a lot of variables. Also keep in mind the car's structure was not designed to handle that power and torque. This needs to be thought out thoroughly and planned before executing. Everything should be in writing and no dollars change hands until the work being billed for it done and the parts are on site. I would also strongly encourage checking with previous customers.
