340 T/A Rocker Shaft Torque ? - 10/21/21 09:21 PM

Hey guys im a little baffled on this,
service manual says 318-340 torque to 210 in. pounds.
the tightening reference says rocker shaft bracket bolt 25 ft. pounds .

so, any idea what it should be, Do the T/A shaft take a different size bolt from a regular 340 ? Thanks, Kevin

I think the Mopar factory service manuals call for 23 Ft. Lbs.. I convert that to inch lbs. (12x23 Ft. Lbs. =276 inch lbs.) and use a inch lb. torque wrench to torque them down several times to make sure the fasterners are stretch as tight as they will stay at wrench scope twocents

200 inch pounds, about 17 ft lbs

25ft will snap bolts

look up torque specs for 5/16 bolts. iirc, a grade 8 is 20 max

they are not 3/8 like one of the popular sources claim

hi '

200 in lb for sure !

multiplying by 12 does NOT give correct value !
