where to get the small gaskets in a edelbrock carb - 04/08/09 03:17 AM

I cant see paying $50.00 for a whole rebuild Kit for a 600 cfm edelbrock carb.

I only need the small gaskets under the venturies and squirters. Is there any place to get just those gaskets??? Ron...

if you have some extra gasket material from any kit just use a razor blade/exacto knife & cut your own. Havent done it but I dont see why it couldn't work expecially since alot of tailor made gaskets need a bit of trimming anyhow.

Ditto, use same thickness gasket material, get a cheap punch set and make your own. Im looking for the screw-in captive check ball that goes in the accelerator pump well of an older carter AVS. Anyone got one? pishta68 at hotmail dot com

they are pretty small and many holes, I think they could be made with some skill and patients but I would like to just find some someplace Ron....

yea they sell just a gasket kit..was about 12-13$ last time I got one

its in the eddy catalog

I would not try to cut my own, they are a little complex on the lay,IMO

most time I have to order it...most places wont have it on the shelf

my speed shop keeps one around now that I bug them all the time about it...mostly chivy/ferd crap in there any ways

but...he is starting to stock some stuff for us mopar guys

I could use all 5 that I have pictured,
Ill look and see if I can find JUST a gasket set, but the rebuild kit is like $50.00 I dont need the other stuff..

the carb is new and it got some stuff past the bad filter and the car started running bad so I had to take it all apart to clean out the carb and those little gaskets pulled apart a little, everything else is fine.

what happened to the $10-$15 rebuild kits I use to sell at the auto parts store Ron...

well I found a better price for just the gasket kit. $8.95 from summit but they have like a $11.00 "HANDLING" charge I'll keep checking around....

any Napa/Carquest/etc should be able to order it....might be a little more than $9, but definitely less than $20.

i use carters myself and felt the same way. i found a little carb shop, upstate ny that stocks every known & unknown obscure carb gasket you can think of. call the guys at County Carburetor, Inc., 208 N. Hamilton St., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. phone #845-452-6490, fax #845-454-2936. make a real time photocopy of your gaskets & fax to them. no need to buy complete kits and they don't kill you on the price. dave ss/ea #1355

I have soaked them in WD-40 for a while and they wont stick when R&R them

I also do this to the 8 3/4 chunk gasket,and 9 1/4 cover gasket

done this on a bunch of chivy Q-jets and other carbs that need to be opend often

$8.95 + $4.95 = $13.90 plus tax
Or you could buy 2 for $22.85 plus tax

Summit Shipping Charges.

Delivery and Handling

Delivery and handling on all domestic orders (including APO/FPO) is non- refundable and based on your order subtotal. It's a big benefit to buy everything at once (delivery and handling is a lot cheaper than actual shipping costs), but you can't plan for emergencies, so the cost is lower for smaller orders.

$0.00-$24.99 $4.95

$25.00-$99.99 $9.95

$100.00 and up $11.95
