Cometic .030 gaskets

Anyone got a set of .030 MLS 4.350 bore BB head gaskets. I had them ordered on Summit but went from May delivery now to September on status page.

How long ago did you order them? Cometics are running behind 6-8 weeks from date ordered. Summit we post a later date for delivery a lot of times to keep people from calling everyday. May be worth a call right to Cometics to get a true date. I've been trying to warn guys to order their head gaskets early.

I ordered directly from Cometic on March 12th and was told 5-7 weeks before they would ship. I am hoping they ship soon. I really need my pistons from CP though. They said 5-7 weeks and it has been over 10 weeks and I am still waiting.

I put in the order a few weeks back, I had phoned to confirm their stock, they said 4 available in Texas, shipping "tomorrow". When I put in the order, it then immediately showed only 2 availabe so I took that as confirmation that 2 had been dedicated to me. My order then updated to say may 19th, and then changed to September. I have the whole bottom end together now, I don't really want to take it apart to get it decked to run .039's.

Are you sure your bores are 4.3500 at the deck? If there is any chamfer at all, the gasket will overhang and it might not end well.

Given the Zombie Apocalypse lead time now required to get these parts, you may want to verify that.

That's a good point, I looked at that, but I don't have uniform chamfer on all the holes, some have a little on one side, and none on the other side, because the first machine shop I took my engine to screwed up the bore spacing, its kind of all over the place. They just bored following what was there and didn't attempt to correct it. Second machine shop pointed it out and said the engine will run, but don't treat it like a drag engine.

I have a set of .027 thick 4.350 bore on the shelf, but Summit has them too and I can't ship for cheaper than Summit
so it isn't really worth selling them and not a great value for you.

Their site shows they have .040s and .027s, but no .030s.

I just talked to summit, they have some 4.380 bore .030 in texas, but they won't ship internationally from texas, only from ohio and they don't do stock transfers between those two locations.

Do you have any friends near the Texas store that could get them and send them to you.

I took twosticks direction and ordered a set 4.380 instead of the 4.350 from Summit. I set up a montana mailbox number through DYK post and they show shipping tomorrow from Texas to Montana. DYK usually takes a couple of days from the border to their depot near me.
