Won't turn over with the key and the dome light is not on. It will crank over if you jump the starter relay but not start.Any ideas where to look?

Start at the battery and trouble shoot forward until you find the open or loose connection scope wrench up
Let us know what you find, that may help others on here later up

Start at your fire wall connection if nothing is getting into the interior power wise. Work from the terminal back to battery, and up to the ignition switch. The Service manual will help you know which connector to pull for power.

74s have a seat belt interlock relay. The seat belt needs to be buckled before the engine will crank. Is that relay still hooked up? I think there is a button on the box in the engine compartment that you can push to bypass the relay.

he is not getting dome light. The interlock system just affects to the cranking circuit for the starter relay from the ign switch, but the rest of the car remains operative. Even to start up the engine jumping out the starter relay

This sounds like the culprit.

If you can crank it from the starter relay the battery connection is good to that point. The fusible link is located between the Starter relay and the bulkhead connector to the dash.
It looks like a wire but the OEM ones had a tag molded onto them that said Fusible link. The cover feels rubbery instead of like plastic.

When the fusible link burns the center of the wire fries and the outer cover stays intact. DO NOT REPLACE IT WITH A REGULAR WIRE!

Next step in the wiring that goes bad is the bulkhead connector where the fusible link plugs into.

Check it too.

Lastly look at the large red and black wires behind the fuse block. If they are burnt it's time for a rewire but I think B1MAXX is correct and it's the fusible link or the bulkhead connector.

Yeah, If the dome light doesn't come on then the link has to be gone...that was my first thought. And If it ain't the link then your right it's the red wire connection at the firewall bulkhead.

I know how the interlock system works. The fact that the dome light isn't working may or may not be related. We don't have enough info to make that determination. The bulb could be burned out for all I know.

Update.Starter relay is acting up. Intermittent no start.Dome light must be another issue.
