old hemi info needed

I have an old hemi engine.I think it's a 392.Only numbers I can find are CE5732182.Can someone tell me what this is?

CE57 looks to be a '57 392 out of an Imperial. Hot Hemi Heads is the resource for the early stuff.

IIRC, you can tell the difference between 354 & 392 by deck height.
Visible from outside by the height of the deck vs. water pump.
354 & 392 each have their fan-base.

All the early Mopar V8 have their year and brand in the serial number stamped onto the right front edge of the lifter valley beside the passenger head
You do need the translation codes to understand them also so maybe Hot Heads has that info on their web site

67 vertman is right. hot hemi heads have a few list you can get information from. first two numbers indicate the year. The only thing I have never found is the list that tells you what vehicle it came out of specifically. Maybe 67 vertman will tell us his secrect for that!! Go to Facebook and search groups. there is one called old Hemi's and another you need to get with called first gen hemis and also first second hemis.

Nope, cast and assembled in 1956, 1957 and 1958

i remember hearing or reading that somewhere, and it stuck in my feeble brain for some reason.
now i will have to search out where that baloney came from. if/when i find that, i will post it.

The 1956 C.I. 354 Hemi passenger car motors where used for one year only, they were cast and assembled in 1955 and 1956 but only installed in the 1956 Chryslers and Imperials

i was just going on what i heard/saw about the 392 blocks so ?
if i can find that, i will post the source. it may have been related to the single shaft rocker setup being introduced in 1959, chrysler's projections of how many 392s would be needed for the 1958 model year cars, plus marine and industrial needs for ?? years in the future.

As far as I know Chrysler never used the 392 motors in any thing other than their productions cars in 1957 and 1958.
The marine, industrial, and larger(5 ton+) truck hemi motors were all 331 or 354 is what I remember and seeing in use back in the days long gone by
