73 Challenger w\440. What to use for radiator - 12/31/20 09:23 PM

I'm sure this has been asked many times. I have a 440- 450 hp and 512 torque. I'm putting it in a 73 Challenger. I'm going to use a 727 transmission, 2400 convertor . What Radiator would work well with it? Best one for the money? Thank you for any help.

I have a 1971 Charger that is nearly identical to your combo, I put a 22-inch 2 row aluminum radiator from Ebay in it, with a mechanical fan and shroud, and it cools fine.

How wide is your yoke? 22” or 26”? Glen Ray is the best and has the right size tubes.

I really like my Griffin Radiator, I run a 440 with 515 Hp and 535 Torque, I have been running it for six years no over heating, stock fan and fan shroud.

Mine is an autocity radiator

I went with a 22-inch because that's width of the opening I have, if you have a 26-inch, I would go with that.

I had a 73 Challenger with a similar setup that was originally an AC car so it had a 26” yoke. There weren’t a lot of repop radiators at the time so I wound up using one from a 70s truck or van that I found a NOS shroud for. It fit without drilling anything but I had to use the later water pump housing with the pass side discharge. I believe they sell those in aluminum now, too. Never had an issue with it overheating, even with 3.91s.

Champion rads are all I use. 6 blade steel fan and shroud. Cheap price and cool just as good as the expensive ones. A cross flow cools better than conventional in My opinion...but look ugly
