68 B body parking light question

Ok, next silly question.

'68 B body - are the parking lights (front) supposed to be illuminated when the headlights are on ? New M & H harnesses all around, all the grounds are good and all other lights function normally. They come on with the switch in the mid position, but go out when you turn the headlights on.

Think that is correct . . . think it was 1970 model year that the park lights stayed on with the headlights . . .

Correct my 68 Charger they turn off with the Headlights on

Not sure if it's the same, but my Dart doesn't have the parking lights on with the headlights. It's a 68.

69 was the first year to the parking lights staying on while headlights are on. This was made just adding a jumper wire to link rear and front parking lights circuits, but switches remain the same

Correct. I think it may have been a federal requirement that changed requiring the parking lights in later years, not certain.

When I bought my '68 Roadrunner new, the parking lights would go out when the head lights where on. Over the years I have rewired them so they stay on when the head lights are on, just like the '69's.

a simple jumper wire at the switch is all that's required to convert earlier vehicles to the 69 and later function.

I like it better with the parking lights off/ headlights on.
