converting a 64 barracuda to disc brake from a 74 dart . bought everything for the dart. cant figure out how to make the brake hoses work . those who have done this , did you use a later a body hose ? did you move the brake hose tab ? do other later models run a little longer hose?

Where is the tab on the frame and how are you going to mount the calipers? Calipers can be front hung or rear hung depending on which calipers you have. Mopar moved the frame mounting tabs over the years. You need to mount the calipers correctly so the bleeder is pointed up and you want the brake hose to cross over the LCA if possible rather than loop down or up.

Check with Dr. Diff . . . Cass has stainless steel braided hoses too ! . . .

It really doesn't matter which calipers you have (A or F body). As long as the bleeder is up. You just have to ignore what the box says about which caliper goes on which side.

Hose routing is different on some calipers so that is another variable that has to be watched out for. The late FMJ stuff was designed to be rear hung. Some of the earlier calipers were designed to be front hung. I've seen a lot of cars at show and shines with screwed up brake lines. People have bleeders pointing down, brake lines with kinks in them, etc.

I can't swear to it but when I talked to Cass about this I thought he recommended a stainless hose he sells that is a replacement for a 1st gen Camaro...

What AndyF said. The hose mount goes on the opposite side of the caliper so the hose crosses the LCA pivot point. Most drum cars mount the hose on the aft side of the suspension, and I hand my calipers on the front, so this works out well if you like the internal style sway bar.
