Machine shop recommendations.........please - 10/12/20 07:41 PM

Could anyone in the Phoenix, Tucson area make a recommendation for a trustworthy machine shop. I have some Dodge V10 heads I would like for them to look at. I just got the secondary intake off the '99 Ram 2500 P/U and did I see a mess. Several push rods just laying in the valley. One push rod chewed up. A couple lifters pushed all the way up ready to drop out of their slots. The tappet yoke aligning retainer bent and one of the tabs broke off.

I want the heads gone through since I have the motor tore down this much. Does anyone know anyone who may be selling used V10 parts. I need another #53005866 tappet yoke aligning retainer. I cannot locate either new or used anywhere. Mine is un-repairable. I am soooooooooo glad Dodge has d/c'd so many of the parts needed for this V10 to keep it running. Thanks for reading.

Criss Engine and Machine
Mike Criss, owner
3231 E. Michigan Street, Tucson, 85714
520-741-0302

A buddy had his Hemi built there and I had a 493 done there. Mike does excellent work.

Went by Chris's Machine Shop and they are permanently closed. It looks as though they went out of business. Will have to try elsewhere.

Did not know that. Hope he is OK. Was a stand up guy that did nice work. Good luck.

Local machine shops are dropping like flies around here. Most of the owners have said they cannot find anyone interested in learning the trade. That coupled with several of them are 60 +, then throw in the crate motors on top of that and it becomes pretty obvious why. I'm sure the covid thing hasn't helped popcorn

Scottsdale Machine. Shop owner is Dave. 480-945-0934. Small shop, 3 guys but I've known Dave for 40 years. He's seen it all. An old fashioned honest machinist. He's not big on talking but knows his stuff. He is still in business.
