I had a friend sent his off to a company in 2002 and was charged $1200 plus shipping. He got it back and it leaked on the floor of his high dollar restoration. I did my own. It’s a 70 charger and it was complicated. It took me 40 hours. I changed the heater core and water valve. I had the evaporator tested. Mine works fine except for one vacuum pod that has some stress on the rubber diaphragm. Several of my parts boxes had the same bad pod. I may have to take another pod and shorten the rod to use it. The second box I did was faster, it only took me 32! They are not easy to do so be prepared to pay.

Copy all guys thanks for the intel. The place in Tampa is right down the road from me I'll try them. I just ourchased the car and A/C doesn't work (compressor kicks on but nothing else) I have the windshield out to do the top and if I'm ever gonna pull the dash now is the time so thinking about that angle

Hello, I rebuild and restore them here at my shop. I also have several original boxes that are good for cores and more boxes for parts. I can build you a box using one of my cores and sell it to you outright, ready to install. I have the original heater cores rebuilt (the aftermarket heater cores do NOT fit that great). I also have the evap cores pressure tested and cleaned. Let me know if you are interested. I can get one ready pretty quickly. I think you will find that Classic is multiple months behind on any shop work as they are running a very limited operation with the Covid mess going on. This is what they told me when I ordered some parts from them last month.
Thanks, Steve

You can do it yourself and save some coin with a gasket kit from DMT
