Hemi dip stick - 08/23/20 12:47 AM

Anyone got a picture of a Hemi dip stick instaled? I have a factory straight one with bolt attachment tang on it and I need to see how it’s bent, with dimensions. Where does the tang attach? With a 440 it goes on the motor mount but of course the Hemi has none. It’s about 26” long now. Thanks

Manifolds or headers?

I’ll use headers unless I find a set of manifolds some day. Was it bolted to the manifold?

I had a little clamp that came with the dipstick assembly. Bolted it to the exhaust flange. Look closely.

As far as dipstick, which pan you going to use? 66-67; 68-69; 70-71? The reproductions run around $70-90.

Wow, the bulletin with those measurements and the engine pic are helpful. I must have a later pickup tube because it makes the pan sit about an inch off the block. Will a later pan fit in a 66 k-frame?

I think it should. The 70-71 pan which is more common and reproduced at a cheaper price point, is shallower but longer in length so it does sit close to the k frame. The 68-69 was deeper and sits below k frame level but shorter in length so more space to K frame. Plenty of pictures on the differences on the web.

TTI Has a document showing how to bend the factory tube to clear the headers.

That is a wrong position. In my original 69 bird the clip and the tube are attached to the first bolt, corresponding to the no. 1 plug, to make it clear.

Mine is just a generic Taiwan Chrome one that I modified to work, and later sanded and painted.
(bent, cut the tab of, welded the tab where I wanted it. I'm obviously not trying to make it look stock).

It was advertised for 440, but being straight it clearly would not have fit that application either,
without (at least) some serious bending.

This part seems to be a pain for alot of folks.
