holley six pack fuel inlet nut wrench

Ok , so I got a 340 sixpack in my 70 Challenger T/A. The accelerator pump blew out and I need to replace it! So as I try to get the carbs off I unfortunately kinked the center carb fuel line. the inlet fuel bowl nut turned and not the fuel line nut! I've tried every wrench in my box and cant get anything on it to hold it while I loosen the line nut! Does anyone know if there is a special wrench available to make thin job easier?

p.s. I will be ordering a new set of stainless lines for re installation

Try removing the front carb first and then use a crescent wrench to hold the fuel bowl fitting so you can use a tubing wrench on the fuel line fitting to loosen it

That's part of my problem, I can't get the front carb off because the center carb fuel line is in the way!

Since you have already jacked it, needle nose vise grips tight and whack with small hammer.

If you are using org. lines and want to keep that look Ive a few spare sections.

You may remove the linkage clip and the 4 vac pod screws on the front pod to get at it better, just dont lose the small gasket from the pod to carb.

Id just cut the line out. Remove your front vac pod.

Working on the fuel line of a six pack is probably the biggest drawback of owning one.

Take off the rear carb and then you can take the center off.

For me I remove the line from the distribution block and leave it on the carb inlet. When the carb is out, then you can remove the inlet lines if you need to.

Try loosening all the bottom fittings next to see if you can swing them out of your way

I have a big blade screwdriver just for that reason.

Used it many times.

I kind of think that if you buy stainless lines they are tough to seal.Heck,the mild steel are bad enough.

Those look like Stainless lines if they are did you have any leakage problems?

Ive never had no issues with the SS, just like SS brake lines we all have different methods.

I do use good wrenches, and I will seat them hard one time and back off and re tighten. It helps if you can leave the carbs a hair loose and let the lines find a happy spot then tighten carbs. But again, everyone is different.

I bought several sets of the SS lines off ebay when inline tube dumped there stock for $25 shipped, the flippers bought hundreds of them and now they are hoping people forget as they are creeping the prices back way up.

So if you can shop around, everyone paid the same.

I took some old wrenches and ground them down to fit made them narrower and thinner

With the "correct" 1" not worn out wrench and a 1/2" line wrench,I've never had a problem getting a fuel inlet fitting apart and I've been doing sixpack carbs since the early 90's.

Over the past 40+years of running my six-pack, I've concluded to using specific-only wrenches from my tool box that fit best to r/r the factory fuel line assembly... from the bowls. Once you find the best ones, remember (or mark) them.
