1979 360 ID - 07/05/20 06:10 PM

I'm thinking the 360 in my '79 Warlock isn't the original engine and it may have been replaced with another 360. The numbers above the oil pan rail are too rusted to read, but here are the numbers on the front of the block. What do these numbers tell you?
4K 360 8305 2, under those numbers is 105079 and 263. Trying to see if this is a 2 bbl engine or 4 bbl engine. Any help is much appreciated.

If you lightly sand the pan rail numbers they should stand out.

Upon further research it looks like this is a 1974 360 from the Toluca plant, Mexico. The only thing built there in1974 that used a 360 was a Plymouth Super Bee (yes Plymouth) and a Monaco. The Super Bee looks like a '74 Dart Sport for U.S. markets. According to articles from 1974 the Mexican 360 had a lot more horsepower than the U.S. versions due to lack of emission requirements in Mexico. Still researching.

8305 is the build date April 23, 1984.
