The Multi-Purpose ones in either the 10 or 12 inch versions. If so, comments....pros and cons?

These are pictures from Race Ramp's website.

Thanks,
David

I just use large styrofoam blocks that I get from the local farm supply. Some bow hunters get them to practice on, too. Shouldn't be too hard to find and should cost a lot less money.

I like inexpensive.....

No link. I just go to our local Rural King farm and home store. They have some blocks of the styrofoam. And if you have any bow hunters in your area, they will probably know where to get them, too.

A couple of minutes with Google and I came up with this:

I have a set of the 8" ones and I would recommend them.

Pros: Safer than jack stands, lightweight, provide unobstructed access to the underside of the car
Cons: Cost more than jack stands, no wheel removal.

Check the max lift of your jack to make sure it will lift high enough for the 10 or 12 inchers.

Thanks Dave. From what I have read on the web: Rural King and Tractor Supply don't actually sell the foam blocks. They use them "to put between their new trailers." Not exactly sure what is meant by that.

Carry on Trailers uses the foam blocks to stack and transport the utility trailers to the store. I am not sure if they reuse them or trash them. Either way i don`t think I would use them.

I agree all foam is not the same,

Not something I would want to leave to chance.

PS, the tires on the Muskrat are on the wrong side.......

I have used block foam to support big stuff for decades. When I was in the marine business, we used it under boats when they were stored on the ground. Both fiberglass and pontoon boats and often over the winter and sometimes for years. Have done it thousands of times, literally, with never a problem. We used the same blocks year after year. And many pontoon boat companies use closed cell foam IN their logs, which, at the time, was where we got the foam for our boat storage.

Today, I still have a few lying around that I got from Rural King that I use under the Cuda occasionally as well as for other jobs. I remember getting them from RR and that they didn't cost much, but it's been long enough ago that I don't remember just how much. It is not something that they keep for retail, but will sell. I get my wrapping plastic there, too. It's not stocked for retail either, but they will sell it from their supplies too if asked.

And yes, there certainly are different strengths of foam. That link I posted earlier has, at least, some of that info.

I made the same thing out of a couple 2x4's and 4x4's from an old swingset we took down. Most just use 2x4s. Easy to make, but you may need to lift the car in stages depending on how high you have to get it, so may need a platform for the jack. I use mine with my 6000lb mid-rise lift so I can work under the middle of the car.

How high / clearance would you need using the Race Ramps to slide a 727 Auto from underneath the car

8-10-12"

I can't answer your specific question since I don't have a 727 to measure, but my Belvedere with 15" wheels has 17" inches clear between the bottom of the front frame rail and the floor, while sitting on the 8" blocks.

I think I remember 20" depending on your pan,
but that means sliding it out with a piece cardboard.

now if you are planning a jack????

I used a Kwik Lift when I swapped in my 518.
I think you need to get the wheels at least 15” off the ground.
They say it raises it 20” and I had some room to spare.

From their website:

Kwik-lift raises the bottom of the tires to 20 inches above the floor, putting the average chassis at about 30 plus inches above the floor.

I really like the design of those too. Extended height is 14 inches. A set of 4 was priced at $550 - $600. Looks like the price has increased to $800.

The only thing I'm seeing "?" work Is in the "KWIK LIFT" videos , It's showing the 'cross-bar' piece as being in the REAR of the vehicle ? ? ?

The way you have the Challenger on the lift looks incorrect ???? shruggy ?????
