B Body Wiper Linkage Question - 05/08/20 11:19 PM

I searched for this number for the windshield wiper linkage: 2857 922 58622. It showed as being for either a two speed or a three speed wiper motor. Can anyone tell me if this is correct?

What exactly are you looking for. The two pivots and the linkage arms are the same 2 speed vs 3 speed. The crank arm off the motor and the plastic cams are different between the two motors. Also what year car?

This is for a 70. I was told but haven't verified that the wiper motor is a three speed and I thought I read where the linkage assembly was different. I have two sets of the linkage and they look the same and the numbers are the same. I have the dash disassembled right now and want to correct any issues before reassembling.

As stated the linkage was the same. You just need the 3 speed crank arm 2822273 and the 3 speed bushing.

The 68-70 B body wiper linkage is the same for 2 or 3 speed motors, if you have 2 spd and converting to 3 spd, you'll need the 3 spd motor with correct crank arm/bushing, 3 spd dash switch, the wiring harness has provisions/hook up for 2 or 3spd switch provided from the factory...

2 and 3 spd B body switches look the same "face/switch/rocker wise", but the 3 spd will have an external resistor on the back side, as seen below

I definitely have the the 3 speed motor, checked it today.

So if I am reading the replies correctly, I just need the 3 speed switch and may have to play around with the wires.

Do this sound correct?

Dos the motor have the crank arm? Also you need to change bushing in the linkage drive arm to 3 speed, if the original was on a 2 speed.

The under dash harness/switch connection is already there to accept the 3 spd switch, plug and play, but you need to make sure your 3 spd wiper motor is for a B body application, the crank arm and firewall harness plug ends on the motor are specific to your B body 2 gen (68-70) Dodge/Plymouth

Here's what a 70 B body 3 spd wiper conversion consist of:

Your wiper crank arm should be pn# 2822273 if OEM, repro arms and bushings are available repro if needed

There is a small brown jumper wire on the switch end of the wiring harness. It can be missing on cars originally equipped with a 2sp
