Steering Shaft Length - 04/21/20 08:53 PM

Having some issues and my steering shaft seems to be to short. It does not look to be collapsed. Does anyone have some inner shaft measurements. 69 Charger with power steering.

I can bolt the column up and get the shaft started on the gear box but that's it. The coupler is all the way out. If I had 3/4 of an inch it would go on but that's still not right. I would say 2 inches is what I need.. My tip of threaded end to tip of the coupler fully collapsed is 38 1/2 inches. I was trying to find someone who has a shaft to measure or knows the lengths.

Even some in car measurements like from lower bearing to shaft weld, gauge hole or coupler.

Thanks that gives me something to go off of. I was also given some end to end shaft measurements from another site. Will let you know what I find. Thanks again.

Shaft was short. I took it apart 15 years ago and had everything neatly put away. I will never say never on the shaft being bumped, I just don't recall anything ever happening to it. Either way its fixed and in the car. Thanks for the help.
