probably not, but it depends what climate your in, lots
of hot to cold, moisture can be an issue.
reality of it is oil is cheap 👍🏻

IMO you should change at least once a year. Because of condensation and fuel getting into the oil . These things need to be flushed out on a regular basis.

once a year is my standard on my wife's car. [1994 chrysler concorde] she only drives maybe 6-800 miles in a year. this year who knows, as there is nothing open.......
the only thing to consider is, do you change in the spring or fall [before storage] ? there are differing thoughts on either. sometimes i do spring, sometimes i do fall. one thing i did at the begining, was to install a much bigger oil filter than the factory issue tiny one. there was lots of room once installed, but it is a little tricky to get on and off, both times filled with oil.
as trips are short, condensation is an issue. however, everything gets warmed up good because she won't go out in it unless it's nice and warm outside.
this has worked well for us since i bought it for her 19 years ago.
just my opinion. your mileage will vary.

yes, age is also to be considered, especially if it's alot of short trips.

I live in Michigan and keep the car in a storage unit during the winter (the wife gets the garage). The unit has no power or heat. I put it up around October and bring it home around April (depends on weather and work schedule). I drive maybe 1,000 miles a year if that. I change the oil right before putting it up to flush all the stuff out since it will be sitting all winter without starting it up. Then in spring I change it again so it has fresh oil for summer. It may be a waste of oil, but makes me feel better about it. I stock up on Valvoline VR-1 when it's on sale. I have thought about using conventional during storage, but not saving much money when I get the VR-1 on sale.

The oil is like the toilet for the engine. It collects dirt, moisture, by-products of combustion. If you don't get it out, get the oil up to temperature to evaporate and cook that stuff out of it, it's going to create corrosion, sludge and possible problems.

Short trip use is considered severe duty for most manufacturers.
