71 Super Bee Carpet who to use? - 03/05/20 07:11 PM

What have been real experiences in the past year or two with carpet for a 71 B-Body 4 speed buckets?
Do I have to spend the extra coin and go with ECS? or can I still buy a $100 or so ACC carpet that fits and looks good.

Thanks in Advance

Ron,

The ECS is a nice carpet but it is a killer on shipping.
I can sell the same carpet is what is called a lay down box which means instead of being rolled in a box it ships flat and the sides are
folded once towards the middle of the carpet. It does ship oversize but not truck freight like the ECS carpet.

You can also achieve the same results in a rolled up box by having the jute not installed on the carpet but included in the box
loose. It is the jute backing causes the wrinkles when it is glued to the back.

I have no experience with the ECS stuff, just heard its nice but VERY spendy

I have used the ACC carpet numerous times. Key is get if out of the box asap. Lay it out flat in a warm room and let it settle ( the longer the better ...). the wrinkles fade away.

Ive done this maybe 6 or 7 times the past 10 years And ALWAYS get it to lay nice .

Heck, you can even slit the jute backing if it somehow wrinkled the carpet.
Every time I've bought carpet in the past, it was rolled up, and letting it sit flat for awhile is all it needed.
I prefer to set it in the car if at all possible.
Go with Dante's.
