1964 Dodge 440 VIN Location

Don't want to go into too much detail, but I've got an opportunity to pick up a 64 Dodge 440. Trouble is there is no title and I don't know where to find it on the chassis. The original drivetrain is long gone and the tag is not on the driver's door. Tried looking under the rear package tray, but didn't find it. I trust the backstory of the car that was provided, but don't want any headaches with trying to make the car road legal. Anywhere else it might be on the car? Thanks....

radiator core drivers side between rad and core support and under trunk seal drivers side near rear that's where i found them on a 64 Plymouth. Transmission might also have vin i don't know.

No VIN partial or otherwise on the bodies for 1968 & earlier.

You said door, but the VIN tag should be on the drivers side on the body in the front door opening.

Go to the SOS and get an inspection form then call your local law enforcement agency and have them inspect the car - show them the SO number locations.

I beleive the state will make a tag for you to attach to the car. It won’t be the typical tag but you will be able to get a title that will match this new tag.

Wasn't the body stamped with the sales order numbers not the vin prior to 68?

Yes, but the only way to tie the SON to a VIN is with original documentation that shows both.

So, I take it there's no fender tag (left apron) or VIN tag (left front hinge pillar) ?
And no registration paperwork or title ?

When researching my VIN on my 64 the authorities couldnt trace it. Their system only works with 17 digit VIN. 64 only has 10 didgits.
