okay, I know this is going to sound like a novice question, but this is the best place to ask...I'm looking for a stock intake manifold for my 1970 383...a guy locally here is selling one cheap enough but listed it as a 383 stock piece 1968-1969...I might bite and get it but want to make sure it will fit the 70 block...I think I know the answer but want to check anyhow...

Best way to know for sure is to get the 7-digit casting number off the manifold. Google it or post the number here and someone can look it up for you to confirm.

If it's a low deck/B block intake, then yes it will fit your engine and perform just fine. It might not be the correct casting number for your car though b/c I think '70 used a different casting than the '68-'69 engines.

Keep in mind the choke housing area is very different between 68-69 versus 1970
1970 is cast open under the choke with a gasket and cup that seals it once installed
1969 and older is cast solid under the choke,,,thus no leaks

A B-engine intake will fit the stock block/heads regardless of year.Carb mounting can differ though, most were AFB/AVS pattern but some are a Holley pattern like they used on a '70 HP 383,Road Runner/Super Bee,etc,

1970 and 1971 HP 383 had Holley carbs on them, the 1968 and 1969 HP 383 had AVS carbs on them on those year manifolds, the 1070/71 manifolds are different but you can make either manifold work on your car if you want it to

2205968 383 62-67
2806301 383 68-69
2951666 383 70-71
I believe these are correct for a 383-4 barrel
