If it is hitting the stock steel baffles only dent them or drill them out where they are hitting. scope
If there hitting away from the baffles replace those covers with taller ones twocents
Another reason I refer to the 426 C.I. Elephant motors as "hemiroids" whistling grin

What about the tubes?
don't they need to be longer?
who would have those?

Probably not going to find good steel TALLER V.C. any where scope
Maybe some cheaper chrome steel valve covers but may regret buying them shruggy
As far as the plug tubes I've had the bottoms rip out from wear on stock iron heads so I installed a set of Milidon spark plug tube seals that worked okay usually, not always though whiney shruggy

Cab, if i add a gasket how about putting a washer on bottom of tube the same thickness as gasket to make the difference?

removed valve cover and were 2 marks on baffle.
used ballpen hammer to fix that .
but still taping between 2-4 spark plugs.
i have the milodon tube seals and forever gaskets.
if i use the mancini spacers will they cause them to leak?
and should i use a washer to make up difference of spacer?

Contact Tim @ FHO for longer tubes.

You could use the Indy aluminum covers and stock tubes. They have the thick boss for the dual plug setup that needs some clearancing (did on mine anyway), but they clear everywhere else.

On mine, the exhaust rockers were hitting the valve cover an inch or so above the head. Took several tries at spraying some paint inside the covers and running the engine enough to mark the paint, then dimple a bit and repeat. My covers are wrinkle, so the dimples aren't really noticeable.

There are two other options on steel covers. OEM Nascar covers had clearance for the 2" valve gear, and then John Arruzza used to make steel covers in chrome and black wrinkle that were specifically designed for Stage V rocker clearance. Occasionally he still lists them on eBay.

Andy F prototyped some valve cover spacers quite awhile back....but I don't know which dealer he intended to sell the product
so you might have to dig or just ask Andy who sells them.

Judging from the MREAR part number on mancini's site, it's probably Mancini but to be honest I just don't remember.

I had them in my hand and they fit pretty darn nicely, but I will probably use taller valve covers if there are clearance issues.

Disregard all crazy ideas. There are valve covers that work. I used to get them from Arruzza. But the last engine I put together with Stage V rockers a few months ago, we used those nearly free chrome valve covers on ebay from newyorkrestomod or something like that. Buy those. They work. They are nearly free. And they look good. Anything else is a bad idea.

I had the same problem, I bought a pair of Stage V covers. No more problems, very nice fit and finish.

Maybe just me but have never liked any cover except the stock ones. Even dented up ones look good, something about the shape.

I'm assuming your referring to the distributor wire ends, correct?
If so they will make the plug wire end even shorter, don't do that tsk
if your saying on the plug end all the early and 426 Hemi plug wires only have straight ends on them to fit into the plug and wire insulators shruggy
Don't we love our Hemiroid motors whistling grin
