OLD holley blue pump ?

i have an OLD holley blue pump and regulator on the shelf.
by OLD, i mean when they first came out, mid/late 70's perhaps ?
does the rebuild kit[s] available today fit these pumps and regulators ?
will these pumps work as a stand alone street pump?

Had one that was probably old enough to vote & buy liquor; cleaned it up, used it on a car, worked fine.
Long enough ago that I don't recall what I may have replaced.
Same with a regulator, which I think used a typical Holley pump diaphragm.
They'd both been race parts, no junk run through them.

I think you're talking about the early 110GPM pumps. I've still got one on the shelf I ran in the early 70's. Going on memory, they do require a regulator. I was under the impression you could still get rebuild kits for them.

Heck ya they were great pumps. I ran 9.80’s with them back in the 1980’s with my 440. I used to always keep a spare rebuild kit t in my Trailer as you could rebuild them so fast. If I remember right there were two different rebuild kits. One had magnets and one was just seals and gaskets. Pop it apart to see how it looks inside after sitting that long.

They can't be very good, they not beautifully machined and anodized billet !!

On a more serious note, I had one sitting in a box for close to 30 years. Sold it to a local guy who installed it and it worked just fine.

I had one that a buddy and I traded back and forth for 25 years before I finally mounted it on my Valiant. It used to leak for awhile the first time it ran after sitting over the winter, but it always sealed itself up.

HAHAHA ! i was thinking the same thing !
someone also mentioned this may be a 110gph pump. my foggy old mind rings a bell on that, so i think that may be the pump.
i'll tear everything down and see how good or bad it is inside, and make a decision then.

My recollection is that Holley Red pumps came out first, and they would stop pumping after they got hot, due to the internals getting longer and not having enough clearance built in to be able to compensate. Holley started warrantying them with other color pumps so they could tell by looking at the color to see which ones were working when out in the field. I also recall they had some black ones too. There may also have been some other color coded ones that I didn't see. Blue ones started coming out in late 73 as I recall.

Blue was/is 110gph.

i'm thinking it may have been the 73 to 75 time period when i got this pump.
i used it for a while, pumping through a stock pump to a holley 780, then switched to a thermoquad and removed the pump and regulator to the shelf where it is today.

I am not sure there is much that can go bad in them with age? I had one on my car for a few years, then the car sat in my garage for 6 or 7 years. After the hibernation I filled it with gas and fired it up and the pump was fine, I even did a Drag Week or two on that pump before I went EFI. Its now probably 20 years old and sits on a shelf in the garage. I try to drop a few drops of oil in it and connect a battery to spin it over when I think about it.

Rubber diaphragm becomes stiff with age, yeah it may still work but it should defiantly be freshened up,but first make sure it works electronically before investing any $$.

Edit, I just realized these pumps maybe vein type pumps & don't have diaphragm's, I never owned one.

A buddy of mine ran a single Holley blue on his 9.70 Maverick. Take a look at a picture of Bill Jenkins Vega Pro Stocker back in the day. Yep, Holley blue with a single Holley regulator.
