A small block cam here, solid lifter.

What can you glean from the specs here to as what application it might fit.

TIA.

older profile. should idle rough. I wouldn't be afraid to try it. knowing at what lobe lift the advertised numbers are would be a help.

I think that would be known if that glare wasn’t in the pic.

Edit..... I believe the SAE method for determining duration on solid lifter cams is; lash point (at the cam/lifter), +.004”.
Since the lash is shown as .022...... divide by RR(1.5) for lash point at the lifter(.01466)....... then add in the .004.... and it’s .01866”...... so, duration @.01866.
For that particular cam......it’s pretty close to the .020” many cam grinders currently use.

Edit #2- actually...... it’s not lash +.004”....... it’s lash +.006” lift at the valve.

So, that is lash point at the cam +.004...... If.... you’re figuring it with 1.5 rockers.
But for engine families that use different rocker ratios it would be a different number.
It’s .006” divided by the RR.

As usual, THANKS GUYS!

Ive about 5 track dates planned this year and am gonna play each time with a old school cam the time a modern comp just to see what pops. Thats the beauty of slow brackets, just be consistent so I dont care what the slips say to a point, just want to compare.

Just a little heads up, with 299 degrees duration you're going to need pistons with valve reliefs. Usually anything over 290 degrees need reliefs.
