Kelsey Hayes brake caliper rebuild - 01/06/20 04:12 PM
1972 Cuda single piston caliper.
How do you guys go about getting the rubber boot, that goes around the piston, seated into the groove on the caliper while sliding the piston in.
Techniques?
Thanks

I used o-ring grease but you can use brake fluid as well

I did a 4 piston set by putting the boots in the bore and then lubing the piston with Napa sil-glyde and pushing them in. The boots are easy to tear so go slow.

I got them in. I had been fooling with it for a bit before I posted here. I watched a couple of you tube videos and both guys put the boot onto the piston and worked the boot into the caliper from the back.
With a little Sylglide and some brake fluid, it actually wasn't too bad.
Thanks

I used Centric Assembly Fluid when I did my A-body 4 piston KH calipers. Made the assembly job very easy.
