Holley 6 pack original carb? - 11/18/19 08:30 PM

Does anyone know if the center carb on a six pack has a check valve and does it have a squirter?
I can't seem to locate it on the carb.

The check valve is under the acc pump's cover underneath the center carb's float bowl.
it's held in place by a small staked strap.
You can see if it's still in place if you look under the diaphragm.

If it has come loose, mine did once, you won't see anything from the squirters.

You also won't see anything if the check valve here is missing.

Yes it is, it is located directly behind the front fuel bowl vent tube above the venture below the choke platescope

My choke was covering the whole top of the center carb. It is there.
But a question. If I let the car sit for over a week it will not start without pouring gas down the center carb. The carbs were rebuilt and done to factory specs and the car idles, runs and revs perfectly.
The squirters seems to be working fine. How can I fix this problem? I was thinking check valve is stuck. Car does sit for a long period of time.

Your problem may just be todays quality of gas. It seems to evaporate quicker than it used to. Try cranking it over a little longer to get gas up to the carbs.

With the engine off, and the throttle on the plastic high idle, is there a gap between the rubber stopper and the opening on the top of the float bowl? If so, gas could be evaporating out the vent. On an OTB Holley center I had to do quite a bit of bending to that arm to get it right. Could be making the issue even worse if center float bowls are set low.

Mopar offered the six pack on 340 motors in 1970 only in the T/A Challengers and AAR Cuda work
Is this clear enough or is there something else you want me to try and clear up on that post?

I'm going to check that tomorrow.
I never checked them after they were restored. Hopefully they were set right.

I have the same problem, i got myself a syringe and I put fuel through the vent hole on the center carb, it starts right up. I gave up trying to solve this LOL, I'm thinking the fuel just evaporates from the bowl throught the vent.
Maybe someone will have a suggestion

Well actually since you said all three years both big and small block, that would have included the 340,you could have left the 1970 only out or maybe something to do with the punctuation, you can read it two different ways . shruggy Isn't picking fun ?? argue beer
