1969 M Code Dart GTS motor - 11/15/19 10:28 PM

I’m building my 1969 M code Dart 440 engine and was wondering if the fan was a six or seven blade, viscous or direct mount with what size spacer? The engine is a single pulley setup with no p/s or a/c. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Thanks. Viscous clutch fan too? 5/8 heater hose on both sides?

No, not a viscous fan, a regular 7 blade fan with a spacer. You can look at the gtsregistry at the pictures of a 383 which is the same used on a 440 for an A-Body.

Does it have the original block still?
I owned a early production(SPD of 10/21/1969) H code 1969 GTS 4 speed car, I have heard and been told that the 1969 440 M code blocks had a different driver side engine mount with the same K member as all three years the 383 A body cars had confused help

Yes, due to the taller block. Basically a modified 383 A body mount.

When I first got that Dart it was missing the motor and trans but had the original BB block radiator, a se of 1 7/8 Hooker fender well headers and the original complete motor mounts.
I found a 440 block that had the correct mounting bosses on it and used it to race that car for 7 to 10 yrs shruggy
A friend of mine several years later bought a 1969 M code fastback Baracuda from a guy in Montana that had, according to the seller, the original block that had two holes drilled and tapped into the front of oil pump boss down low for the 383 mount to bolt into confused

Funny. That torque strap looks nearly identical to the one on my 383 GTS. Right from the hardware store, 40 years ago.

Oh my goodness, is that a Fram filter. Probably won't make it to the end of the driveway grin

The corregated hose and the Fram went into the trash last night. The car has been in mothballs for 13 years, and is alive now!

I have a fan for one of these cars I believe...in case you're looking for one. 2863213 is the number on it.

Don't forget that Mr. Norm made this motor mount first in 1968 and Chrysler just followed his lead. Why reinvent the wheel?
