1969 Charger Disk Brakes - 11/07/19 03:42 PM

I want to install front disk brakes on my 69 B Body... I have power brakes, What can I get thats not a major operation to install without changing booster... I don't mind changing spindles and what ever I need to replace at the wheel.. Thanks

Your current master cylinder is going to have equal sized reservoirs for the front and rear brakes. While technically it will work, a disc brake master cylinder will have a larger reservoir for the disc brakes. The calipers displace more brake fluid as the pads wear then do the wheel cylinders. Replace your master cylinder. twocents

Doing a search on this subject will really help you determine what you want to do. OEM, After market, etc... Do you need to keep this like an original 69 set up, or anything that works is fine. What cost? All that will factor in to what you want.

Do yourself a favor and just order from Dr. Diff and be done with it. Great stuff and the best customer service that you will find. I converted my power Bendix disc system and it works great, I left the booster alone and ordered one of his master cylinders as well.

did you use the original single diaphragm drum brake booster ?
if so, how does it stop for you ?

My car was an original power disc so I just used the same booster from the old 4 piston set up. It stops great now with the A body brake conversion.

thanks.
i believe, since your car was an original 4 piston disc car, your booster would have been a dual diaphragm unit.
