Daughter in law 10 Nitro alt went bad yesterday.Got super hot.Son got it here and replaced alt Battery and belt. Now no charge.IIRC the alt reg should be in the PCM.I think the old one fried it.Any easy test to find out if computer is bad.Man I miss having AllData etc at the shop since I retired.Rocky

I would wire in a standard 70's or 60's mopar VR.
Temporarily anyway and see if that kicks it into charging.
If it works, then I would wire it permanent key on for power and call it a day.

Have you checked the fuse on the charge line? It should be in the fuse box under the hood.

Something else to check is the overrunning alternator decoupler.

Does the alternator have one of these? My first experience with one was on my 2007 Caliber. It let lose and the alternator stopped charging. After I got the alternator pulled out I spun it and watched the pulley spin freely and the brushes never moved. Wouldn't put it past parts store quality for one to be bad on a rebuild.

that video suggested a special tool to install the coupler.
anyone know what that is ?
i have one of those clutches on an 02 alternator from a minivan, and i just used an impact gun to remove the clutch and pulley.
TIA !
