Silly steering wheel question - 08/02/19 04:24 PM

I have the same steering wheel without the woodgrain in my truck and was wondering if the triangle part should be up or down going down the road? Ive seen both ways on the internet. It almost looks better triangle on the bottom but I want it the way it was supposed to be.

Stock wheels are keyed to the shaft. You can't put it on but one way.

Does the center part just come off and then you can flip it around.

Some trucks do not have a master spline.

The center pad only goes on one way on steering wheel but the steering shaft holes for rag joint are in same position whether the steering wheel triangle is up or down. Im replacing steering box so thats why I can spin it and check easily. Im checking for a master spline now but if its not there then its orientation is still in question.

The steering wheel has no master spline but the steering shaft has the space for one. I'll believe whatever you guys tell me.

pretty sure every time i've taken the wheel off on a truck to replace the turn signal switch, when i put the wheel back on...i do it a few times so i can adjust it by one or two splines. i like the wheel a little off center so i can rest my elbow on the arm rest and my fingers are right at the bottom of the joint on the side of the wheel...
