Sebring new vert top - what’s the going rate ?

.... got a bud that found a cherry one but the top is junk !

Do an online search for prices.

I would imagine that THOSE PRICES would be full retail ... not looking for that.

I depends on if you are going to install it or the shop will and the quality of the material. Depends on the area you are in also. Not all online prices are full retail that is why you do a search to a see the differences.

I’ve never done a job like that and neither has he so shop installed would be the ticket. It’s a white car so would a white top hold up better in the Florida UV ?

I would think so and it would look good too. I put a top on my PT Cruiser and it wasn't that hard. Found instructions on line and in the factory repair manual on disc from Ebay. Even redid the hydraulics. IIRC the top was around $350 with the window. Ebay shows them in the $200-$300 range with window for the sebring

Wow ... 350 for a PT ? Reasonable! ... glass window? I would think the Sebring would be a bit cheaper then ... a bigger demand

Take a look on Ebay. some goods prices. I don't know about the sebring but the PT top was three layers. The outer water proof cloth and and pad and the inner cloth.

Cost us close to $1k when we had one done. If you can find one in a wrecking yard with a good top you can swap the entire assembly

Wow, can't believe it's been almost 20 years since I had my 300Hurst ragtop . . . anyhow, back then, I got the top (glass back window) from Legendary (was $450) and shop charged $450 to install . . . overall thought that was pretty good value ! Check with a shop to see what they would charge . . . sure you can do it yourself, but for the "hassle" factor - much rather have the pros do it . . .

Ive had 2 done.
1st one was on an 04 , glass back window - cost $1200 ,,,maybe 5 or 6 years ago
2nd one was on a 96,,, plastic back window , had different shop do it. $550 out the door. this one was just about 3 or 4 years ago
on both they supplied the top


the 04 was a black top
the 96 was a tan top
if this matters.

I was in both cars pretty cheap so it was cost effective to have them done and IMO really helped them sell .

Have you considered shopping the salvage yards? I have bought a couple of Sebring convertibles over the years that have needed tops. I just bought good ones from a yard and installed them frame and all. Takes much less time and money.

Lots of 'snow birds' down there. Not every car is a native. Maybe wouldn't hurt to look, just in case there was a good one.

Around here the better quality factory material from the limited seems to hold up better and can be found somewhat intact compared to the other models..Complete top/frame assemblies go for about $45.00 at the pick and pull boneyards...

You didn't say what year the Sebring Convertible is, what year is it?

It’s a real clean 2004 with a 4 banger .... no v6 2.7s !!

I’ve only been to two JYs down here and I’ve not seen many Sebring vert cars and the tops I’ve seen IIRC ... weren’t all that good
