I’ve personal seen and know the original owner of a 70 Barracuda that has the blacked out rear panel and chrome molding. It also was red with front and rear rubber bumpers, 383 4 barrel and flat hood. Was it possible to get a Barracuda with the blacked out panel, chrome trim, but also get a sport hood, Cuda rocker molding, and dual exhaust cutout rear valance? I would say this car was a Cuda except for the fact the holes for a Barracuda emblem are present on the rear tail light panel. Sorry no more information is available than what I have given.
What do you mean by "chrome" molding?? It is a terribly misused word on this site. Chrome means almost anything shiny to most posters. On the rear of a 1970 Barracuda with a black tail panel, you could only get the three pieces of aluminum trim(aluminum NOT "chrome"). That would be because it was part of the M46 molding package. That package was never available with the A22 code. The four pieces of stainless steel(NOT "chrome") that are standard on 'cuda BS cars, was only available on Gran Coupe cars, along with the three pieces of aluminum trim, BUT the tail panel would be painted that astrotone silver colour, standard on all Gran Coupes in 1970. And it would have to be coded with the A22 code and be FE5, at least in the early part of production.
