2008 Dodge caliber automatic transmission swap issue - 12/05/18 03:13 PM
Hi guys, I just replaced an automatic transmission in an 08 caliber with a 2.0 engine. Everything went well, except the thing is in limp mode, and won't accelerate. It goes forward and backwards, basically at idle speed regardless if you put the pedal to the floor or not...I've read that it may need to be reprogrammed now. Is there a fix without taking it to the dealership ??

Worth checking. Known problem with wiring harness.
wiring had rubbed on left frame rail where plastic splash guard covers the end of the transmission, repaired transmission worked perfectly - before repair you would swear it was burnt up

What was the original problem/symptom you replaced the trans for?

The transmission and the tcm need to be calibrated for each other. You will have to take it to the dealer and have it programmed.
