Fix it, 2nd gen Charger with a Hemi will bring good money, I have had serious offers for my 68 Charger with a 512 wedge 50k US,& it is just a good driver,Fix what you have & you will KNOW what you have.

Get an accurate estimate of what it would cost to fix what you have.
From what you say, I'm guessing it would be cheaper to get a donor car.
There are many projects out there that people have gotten in over their head and can be had at a good price.

Fix it. It will cost you less than a shell, if you can find one. I've replaced my frame rails with used and a new trunk floor. Lots of guys are doing it themselves at dodgecharger.com. My rails were mostly rotton in the rest half.

If you can do that kind of work, all the parts are available.
I see AMD advertise a lot.
Wish I had those skills.
My 68 Coronet 500 needs the same.
Just me, I'd never borrow money for a toy.

Do You have the ability and equipment to do it yourself, or are willing to acquire whatever you need to do it yourself?

You could buy the parts you need from AMD and have a great learning experience.

You could do a rear subframe (think drag car style back 1/2) and replace the rusty sheet metal with new flat sheet metal. Probably a lot cheaper then buying the AMD parts.

You could buy someones stalled project for pennies on the dollar, all you would need to do is find that guy and his car.

If you have to pay someone else to do the job, it will be expensive. I've heard AMD also installs panels...

I also have a hard time borrowing money for a toy, but I guess people do it all the time. Gene
