Working on a 1956 Dodge (Canadian). 315 Poly. Rebuilding the motor, and they have two different part references. What is the difference in a Red Ram and a Super Red Ram. I do know that the 315 HEMI had the same block as the Poly that year, but did they make a Super in Poly, or is that for HEMI only?

red ram is the poly version, super red ram is the hemi version.

Thank you.
BTW, just a question. Were the cams the same, rods and everything else except heads, pushrods, etc?

That's more detail than I know. But in the following link there is the parts catalog for those years, you can cross reference.

In '56, the Red Ram was a poly 2-barrel, the Super Red Ram was a poly 4-barrel and the Hemi was a D500.

That makes sense. Thanks to all. This is a two barrel, Sooo, its a Red Ram.
BTW, the D500's I've seen are kinda cool looking.

My '57 325 Red Ram got updated with a 4-barrel so I got new Super Red Ram valve cover decals to denote the upgrade. All the internals are the same.
