Who does great show chrome work in Michigan?

A-W Custom Plating, 9 mile rd in Eastpoint great work, reasonable price, average 5 month wait for part return.

Fini Finish, Mound rd in Warren, beautiful work, expensive, 3-4 month wait.

I have most of my work done at A-W, never disappointed. My rich friends go to Fini.

Ask around at motorcycle shops. They will know who to go to.

I have used B&L and was happy. No chrome is cheap in Michigan. You can get a good deal thru Tri-City chrome but you will have to ship.

I will be in the same situation with my 1971 Demon. I will PROBABLY go with AMD. I do not need show chrome AND cost will be a factor. But I still will get an estimate from the recommended platers for my current bumpers.

I need to replace the rear bumper on my Duster eventually, and I will
most likely just use a AMD bumper too. My car is not a show poodle..
it's a street/strip car. drive

Whomever you choose to go with, ask if they base copper coat and buff. That will tell you a lot about their quality of work.

Just like painting, the real time and cost is in the prep work.

Why the hell should it take 3 MONTHS to do one bumper?

Most places do not use copper anymore. Usually double nickel & chrome. Lots of motorcycle chrome platers have small tanks - got to find places with big enough tanks to do bumpers. Librandi's in Middletown, PA. is also a very good plater.

Especially if you don't require show quality chrome, just have it chrome wrapped.
