2001 T@C blower motor Q

About 2 years ago I replaced the blower resistor and pigtail after it melted. The other day a saw smoke behind the glove box. Not the large connector to the resistor but two wires that go down and to the right were HOT. What do those wires go to? Why do they generate so much heat?

Motor worn out or got junk in the fan
