Master cylinder mounting - 05/15/18 03:02 PM

I need to know where to get the master cylinder studs and the plastic spacer for the master cylinder to firewall. I'm not sure what it is even really called. Car was power but now going manual brakes. I know the manual cars had them. Thanks in advance!

The "spacer" is a firewall reinforcement for the master cylinder. What year and model are you looking to do this on? I'm looking to upgrade my 1972 B-body to power disc brakes. Maybe we can work out a swap?

I should have added this is for a 1969 plymouth roadrunner. Not sure if they are the same or not.

I used to have a reinforcement from a 1968 B-body. I can look for it when I get home.

FYI,
there was no plastic spacer on manual brake cars.
master cylinder bolts directly to the firewall plate with a white foam gasket between them

As far as I know there was always a steel reinforcement plate installed between the master cylinder and the firewall on manual brake cars. I know my 1972 B-body has one.

There was always a steel re-reinforcement plate behind either the booster or master cylinder. Be it manual or power brakes - drum or disc ( plates were different for each individual application.)

The only 'spacer ' was on power drum brake applications. Even then it was a combination of plastic and aluminum.

Ok I've been busy and now I really need this part. I need the firewall reinforcement plate for a manual brake 67-70 b body! Can anybody lead me to a source or have one laying around? Ebay is bare!

Here is the correct backing plate for 66-70 B-body.
Power has a round hole and manual has a diamond shaped hole.
I might have one. Which did you need? Manual, right?
The ones shown from Dr Diff don't fit your car. Those are for 70-4 E and 71-4 B.
