IBK 1003 missing center button

Went to the Studebaker swap meet and bought a NOS IBK1003 distributor cap, but later realized the center button and spring is missing. Anyone know if a replacement carbon button is available, or how to remove and replace one, like from another cap?

The back of the button is smaller and the spring snaps down over it,the other end of the spring is pushed up over a small protrusion in the cap.If you pull both out you can push it back the same way.Only problem you may have is stretching the spring when removing.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like I'll be looking for a suitable used or possibly broken donor cap now that I know what to do to cure the problem.

Not sure on this but was looking on advance site one time and they listed the spring and contact for a 440-6 dual point, might be the same, also have seen them for same app on rock auto, but their stock comes and goes.

Spring and contact are the same in all Prestolite caps,tan or black.
