Anyone running the Trans-Dapt /6 to v8 swap mounts? - 04/26/18 09:38 AM

I’m looking at different options for putting my 410 stroker into my recently aquired 71 Duster and ran across the Trans-Dapt Performance Engine Swap Motor Mounts 4695, they’re 1/2 the price of the Schumacher a67a6 A body V8 conversion mounts. Cheaper isn’t always better though so I figured is see if anyone here had run them. I also plan on putting headers on it so those have to clear everything too. I might also just swap to a V8 K member. Any help would be appreciated.

Wow.... I figured this was the place to ask a question like that. Guess I’ll stick to the unlawful’s race section.

Back in the day the Trans-dapt stuff was the only game in town unless you had a welder. Some of it was downright shoddy. But, comparing the two versions of the mounts, I don't see much difference. Both use rubber insulators, the Schumacher adapters are powder coated while Trans-dapt are not.

There may be a difference in how easily the holes line up. There may be a slight difference in metal thickness. But overall they look quite the same.

Thanks, I think I’m going to give them a try!
