06 liberty both codes P0440 and P0302 any ideas? - 02/01/18 01:21 AM

It was throwing code P0440 a couple weeks ago, I made arrangements to take it in then it went out by itself and was gone. Dash light came on yesterday and now its throwing both codes.
Any ideas?

My relative had the evap leak and it was the fuel pump cracked on the top.

Codes should stay in memory so they can be retrieved & investigated.
Misfire could be tired plug or wire, maybe dirty injector; evap leak could be loose gas cap, cracked hose, etc.

Chrysler products are well known for evap and purge system hoses rotting away. Check every piece of rubber hose in those systems first.

Today I was told it was the purge valve, got one on order from Jeep for $65. Parts store had one that was $110 in stock, or Dorman that was $55 but would take 2 days. Jeep will have tomorrow. I remember on our 2001 T@C all the little pieces of hose were rotted under the battery tray.

I had the evap code on my 01 Dakota some years back and I had several hoses that had starting to crack right where they are terminated. The code came back a second time later and the caused this time was a corroded fuel filler neck.
Also a common problem in the salt belt Northern states.
